It’s exciting! It’s powerful! It’s eternal! It just launched last week and people are getting involved! What is it?
It’s called Promote Grace.
I know that doesn’t help a whole lot so let me explain.
The dictionary defines grace as being a gift or favor. It isn’t something you earn or deserve, it’s just a simple act of kindness that is extended toward others. If you haven’t noticed, everyone loves grace! Just Google “random acts of kindness” and watch the reactions. There is joy, gratitude, happiness, and excitement every time grace is experienced.
Grace is a powerful activity and seems to reach deep into the heart and soul. This makes sense because God created mankind in His image (Genesis 1:26) and grace is one of the key attributes of who God is and what He has to offer. In other words, when we experience an act of grace it gives us a small sample of what can be experienced from God. This is why it is so powerful!
Of course, the Bible is very clear that grace is the basis for what it means to be a Christian. In order to get right with God, it is not about trying to be a better person, it’s about receiving His forgiveness that is unearned and undeserved.
Romans 3:23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Last week, PromoteGrace.com was launched to bridge the gap between a random act of kindness and God’s ultimate act of kindness on the cross. It is an approach to evangelism that is rooted in grace, not intimidating or awkward conversations. Here is how it works:
1. Consider Your Options
Think about the people you encounter each day and how you might show them an act of grace that would be unexpected. Then do it!
2. Make it Meaningful
A certain amount of personal sacrifice is the key for your acts of grace to really resonate.
3. Make the Connection
After extending an act of grace, write PromoteGrace.com or #PromoteGrace on a piece of paper and give it to them. If they ask what it’s about, tell them to check out the website, nothing more and nothing less.
It is impossible to know where people are emotionally and spiritually. Sometimes a simple act of grace can have a profound impact. Pray that God will use your effort.
That’s it! It’s easy, simple, and powerful! I believe this is a game changer for the way we do evangelism and reach people for Christ. Everyone can do it and it will be a blessing for all!
So jump in! Be part of a positive new movement and let’s show the world how hate, fighting, and division is not the answer. Promote Grace!
